???

See how lazy-cray-tired I am? I'm not even going to steal a photo from Google for this post.

I don't know what to title this post so I'm not going to even try. I am so ready to have this baby now. The clothes are sorted, the house is clean, the crib is up, my mom will fly in Monday night, I'm contracting all the time now, I've been reading up on tips to make delivery more comfortable, my hands are are numb and in pain (I didn't think you could feel pain and numb at the same time, but I swear my hands are killing me but are numb like they are asleep), my feet hurt, my maternity clothes no longer fit...

Get the idea? So now I'm just counting down the hours. Tuesday morning will be caster oil/walking a lot time. I can't wait. I can not wait to have this little guy outside of me and in my arms! We still haven't found a name yet. Any ideas? It has to be a name with great meaning or related to a great person, and hopefully doesn't lend itself to mean nicknames.

Mr. Hotness says he will guest post for me when the baby comes to keep you guys informed. Be nice to him =). As for me, I may not be around the blogosphere very much, but I will still be reading your posts (even if I don't comment). Hope you all are enjoying your summer vacations!

=)

I'm just sorry you're feeling so miserable, but I know that holding that baby will be entirely worth it. And may that happen really really soon....

    :)

    Hang in there.

  5. Oh girl, I SO remember that phase of pregnancy. In fact, you may have just convinced me to never have another baby again;) Really, that is just the worst.

Why wait with the castor oil?? Does it not work if you do it too early?

Hang in there, you'll be cuddling that lil' one any minute now:)

PS> As for names I always wanted to use Atticus - great meaning/literary meaning etc. - but I think it fails your embarrassing nickname test. Ah well. My husband wouldn't let me use it either.

  8. Good luck! It was always the worst for me right before the baby came. As far as naming goes, we just dug around in our family history to find them for our boys. I am not sure if we could scare up any more though since all the nearer acceptable ones have been used.

  14. Know how ya feel, but be encouraged as you remember that you have completed these long 9 months, so surely you can make it through a couple more days. But SO know that desperation. As far as names... I love the name Ethan Gabriel. Always loved the name Ethan, and thought it sounded nice with Gabriel. and they are both biblical names, which is one of the things i like in names... nice meaning and great significance. I also like the name Noel, which is what i wanted to name our last son, but my hubby really wanted Dario (and it ended up being perfect for our son, too) In any case, good luck, and Hang in there. praying for you and your fam...

  16. I had a doula for my birth and she was awesome. She had these "essential oils" that she used as she gave me massages on my hands & arms. That was the best thing throughout my entire labor. I LOVED IT and it distracted from the pain and I almost felt relaxed.
See if you can get Mr. Hotness to pick some up and massage those swollen hands.
    it does wonders.

  20. I visit your blog every now and then and I wanted to wish you luck with new baby. I love the name Alexander, it is the middle name of one of my kids. I think it has a lot of history but can't be tied to just one great man, and I can't think of any teasing things for it, but my husband is better at that then me. Good luck!

  29. Hang in there - can't wait for you to have your new little guy!

Personally am partial to "Tristan" since I have one myself. Definite mini-hotness factor since everyone thinks we named him after Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall.

Best Wishes and Prayers on a safe delivery!

  30. My husband is a history major, so we have two presidents, a civil war general, a battle site, and a month (yes, only 3 children)...good luck with the castor oil. If I could think of a way to make it taste/feel better, I would tell you, but I can't. I hope it does more than come back up.

  31. Ok - so I cheated and posted twice...
About the hand thing - I totally had the same thing! Mine would go numb and hurt like the dickens. Never heard of it until I started talking to other new moms. The great thing is that it goes away once that little kiddo makes his entrance.

Oh yeah - a comment on the "Noel" suggestion... my step-son's name is Noel. Trust me, there are a few interesting nicknames. Kids can be so creative!

  32. I remember those days.
It is Wednesday now and I am really wondering how the castor oil went yesterday!?!
My sister had her baby yesterday.
Good luck and best wishes for you, your family and the baby!
I'm sure you will come up with a great name. We are apparently fond of names that begin with vowels in our family. We have an A and an E so I guess our next will be an I. :-)

  33. i hope your castor oil worked yesterday. i'll be checking back lots for an update from mr. hotness.
our third son had four names before he was two hours old. but we love the one we picked in the end. i'm sure you'll find something wonderful. i wish that my husband would let me use oliver, elliot, or graham, but he said no way.
