Go Away

Rain, rain, go away.
Come again another day.
Lizzy's family wants to play.
Rain, rain, go away.

(In Seattle pretty much any day that has a cloud on it is going to be dismally grey and have rain at some point. Today says, "Chance" of showers, but it is already raining all over everything.)

I shouldn't be complaining, because if it really were hot and sunny I would swell up like a hot air balloon and be whining about that instead of this. I'm such a whiner. But seriously, it has been raining all week, and as you can see it isn't about to stop. And notice the temps? It is 48 right now and rather chilly. Last week I actually had to turn on the heater for a little bit because the kids were freezing (and my toes were cold). IT IS JUNE!!! Where is my summer? It is really hard to want to "nest" when it is so dreary outside. The kids are constantly asking to play outside and I have to say no because everything is wet and muddy right now, with no sign of drying. I can't put away our winter clothing because we are still wearing it, and at this point I wonder if it is even worth putting away. Fall is just around the corner. *sigh* =(

Good thing Mr. Hotness brought home some new ice creams for me to try, or I'd be really bummed. I don't know about yours, but our Rite Aid is having a sale on Haagen Daz: 2 for $5. =)

That is why I had such a difficult time living in the Northwest. Summer is too short. I hated that June was still so chilly and that summer did not start until July and fall came in August. I am happier out here in the Midwest with our long and hot summers.
Hoping some sunshine and warm weather comes your way soon!

man, i think i'd rather have a torrential downpour than this unbearable heat we have in memphis. it's so humid i dread leaving my house for fear of having the breath sucked out of my lungs.

woohoo for ice cream!

I'm so sorry about all the rain...it's so hard with kids.

Thank goodness for ice cream!

My mom is in Oregon, and they are worried their garden won't get enough sun this year, because all it does is rain, rain, rain.

Yuck!! I'd gladly share some Denver sunshine with you if only I could...

I didn't realize you were in Seattle! Hey, I heard this has been the coldest June week on RECORD!! Dude. So much for "summer". At least I'm not wasting vacation days on this weather (yet).

Well, at least by the time you have the baby, they won't be tired of playing outside yet!

Send some of those clouds south. We need more rain. It is already looking so dry here. And it is HOT... or what feels like HOT at the moment. Give me a month and I am sure I will be really complaining of the Heat.

It has been high 80's all week with lots of humidity here. Our garden has gotten fried! It is also too hot a lot of the day for my son to go outside. Just can't win can we. :)

we are having cooler temps than normal here too, which i wouldn't mind (since normal is obscene) except for the high winds. i generally spend all summer taking my kids swimming and none of us feels much like swimming when the wind is so chilly. that probably doesn't feel so bad to you, but it is bumming us out. the good news is that i haven't run my ac in days.

I'll switch weather with yah!!! I need some rain. We've been having lower-than-normal temps here in the Bay Area, CA... but I'd still love some rain. Sending warm vibes from down south.... LET IT BE WARM...

I'm with you. Enough already!

I'll trade some of your rain for our 10 days of constant tornado warnings!

Hope that sunshine comes out for you soon!

Wow, it sounds like I am there. We've had rain for several days in a row and it has been in the 40s and 50s! I had the heater on today, too.

I wish it would be sunnier, but the temperatures are nice, since I'd be all hot and swelled up, too!

Mmmm! Ice cream!

Just catching up on reading blogs.... sorry to have neglected you. :)

We have May Gray and June Gloom here in SD. It' such a bummer. I feel so bad for tourists who come for Memorial Day weekend, or a week in June who don't know that the best months here are in the fall.

Wakey wakey Mr. Sun!

I know! I told my walking buddy I didn't want to walk in the rain and cold. She replied, "Then you'll never walk again..."

Come on... you need to get Mr. Hotness to start his own blog so my husband can read it and glean all of his "happy wife" ideas. Seriously.

I'm sorry about the rain. I remember the rain. The constant, drizzling rain. And the cold.

I bet the sun is just waiting for that little boy to be born. :)

Ah, the joys of the Pacific Northwest :D

We've been enjoying the Haagen Daz sales too... I'm currently in love with the Fleur De Sel Caramel and the Caramelized Pear With Toasted Pecan :D

After two days of rain, I'd have to throw in the towel. But then again, sounds like you'll be needing it. :)
