I used to be the mom who told my kids that they had to be gushing blood before I'd ever break out the bandaids. Yup, I was tough as nails. Now just look at me. I'm giving bandaids to a kid who bit the inside of her cheek. But have you ever heard Sweet Terror scream? If you have you would have given her the bandaid too. Heck, I'd cover her entire face with bandaids if I had to in order to keep her quiet. Don't judge me, just pity me. And look, I actually managed to get her hair all up into piggy tails for a whole 2 minutes!!! I made sure to document the occasion before they could be ripped out in a fit of tears. Cute! At least the bandaid was wanted for legitimate reasons! My third grader has been 'taping' her fingers with bandaids for no apparent reason. She looks like a thug or a lightweight boxer - I can't decide which.
Hey. Whatever works. Those piggies are priceless, though.
Yeah, I had to drag my screaming 2-year-old out of Old Navy and away from the talking dog yesterday because he didn't want to leave.
I swore I'd never have a kid like that and look what happened.
Sheesh.
How cute!
My 2-year old has asked many times for a bandaid when he:
bites his tongue
has a tummy ache
falls on his butt
What's up with that?!?!
A bandaid after she bit the inside of her cheek? I have never heard of that, but I'm thrilled that you choose your battles. It's actually brilliant! She is as always..adorable!
You are clever :) !!
I think my four year old has won many more points than me today, too!
My 4yo has won so many points against me lately, it's not even funny. He's a stubborn one and I just don't have the energy to fight it.
I HAVE heard her scream and I'd give her the entire box! lol -- She's adorable though and I LOVE that'she's such a spitfire!
Yeah I have been guilty of that too, so don't feel bad.
As I followed along with the text of your post, I kept thinking what you typed next. Yep. Used to be iron-clad. Yep. Now I give in to keep the kid quiet. Realized bandaids were less expensive than therapy. I'm with you.
bronwen begged for a bandaid this morning when she cut the inside of her lip. she seemed to be okay with it when i told her that we can't use them inside our mouths, but has taken every opportunity to tell everyone in her path today about her hurt lip.
she's winning most of the battles around here lately. i find her to be completely adorable but can't wait for her bedtime. sigh.
That is so cute! A bandaid for a bit cheek!
My baby bit her tongue today with her new little teeth and it was so sad!
I used to withhold bandaids too until once when I cut my finger. It wasn't bleeding but it hurt like heck without a bandaid on it! Now anyone who wants one gets a bandaid or two or three.
A bandaid for the inside of her mouth! Clever! And very cute!
