A Beautiful Ice Cream Moment

This is what I had for breakfast this morning: It's what I've had for breakfast for the past 4 days now. It's so yummy, so nutritious, so not creamy and caramely and cold,
so....
so....
so not this:

While Mr, Hotness and I were looking for our new home we drove all over North East New Jersey, South East New York, and South West Connecticut. While in Connecticut we happened upon a Friendy's. I think I scared poor Mr. Hot-stuff when I grabbed his arm, squealed in delight, and shouted, "Friendly's, Friendly's, pull in, pull in, we have to eat at Friendly's, I have to have a Reeses Pieces sundae, it's HUGE and I have to have one. Please, please, please!!!"

For some reason I have very intense reactions to childhood memories and poor Mr. Hotness is often caught unawares by them. In this case it was my memory of Friendly's, an ice cream shop and diner that was a special place to go when I lived in Saratoga, NY. They had this sundae that came in a ginormous goblet and try as one might, one could never finish one of those bad boys by themselves. Trust me, I tried many times. It was like an obsession with me. I had this dream that someday I would be able to order, eat, and finish the most yummy sundae of all time: The Friendly's five scoop Reeses Pieces sundae with fudge and peanut butter swirls and little chocolate sprinkles. Yes someday I would be the David who slays the mighty giant.

That day was upon me and it was time to try again...

And I won!
I won!
I won!
I won!

Never give up on your dreams, people, because eventually you will be ready, and they will come true. And you will be so proud of yourself that you will go back and eat that dream again and again... oh yes, and again!

And then you will have to drink V8 for breakfast everyday for the next 20 years to recover from that dream.
'
But it will be soooooo worth it!

WOW! That is a sundae after my own heart/tummy. :) I hope you didn't pay for it later. :)

The sundae looked fantastic, but were those cheese sticks?? And onion rings?? Now THAT is a dream I'd love to wake up to!

Glad you slayed your Goliath!:-)

Wow, that was so inspiring! I have a dream of getting off the couch today and accomplishing something and now I think I can finally do it!

THAT is laugh-out-loud funny. Congratulations on fulfilling your dream, and also on the four days of V8!

Hahahaha...well, I'm glad you achieved your dream.

And DARN it if I'm not craving ice cream now! LOL I was just out by Friendly's this morning, too. ;-) I've only been there once. It was the day my grandmother passed away. I was out here, she was back in Seattle. I could think of no better way to honor her memory than to go to a diner and eat a bunch of cheap food that I would probably regret in the morning. You'd have to know her to understand...but she was a FOODIE that hated to spend money. Quite a conundrum. ;-)

Remember when we visited New York City and your big bottle of V8 juice leaked inside of your shoulder bag and got all of our cool NYC trinkets all nasty?

That was awesome.

Yeah, my mom who weighs like 100 pounds dusts those huge 5 scoop ice cream sundaes off every time she goes to Friendlys. I grew up eating the Mr. Cone Head at Friendlys. Never had anything else. And now I have graduated to the 3 scoop Reeses sundae. I have noticed they have gotten skimmpy on the peanut butter sauce lately. Just not the same with less peanut butter...
Now I am thinking about packing the kids up in the car and heading to Friendlys. Maybe I'll stop and pick up some V8 on the way home.

I want one!!!
I've never even heard of Friendly's and I'm certain that nothing I will ever find will ever be as glorious as that sundae looks! :(

Stop posting pictures of food p*rn!

I haven't been out "visiting" blogs as much lately, so a lot has happened in your life, and I need to catch up. Looks like you've moved. Anyway I hope you are well.
