Last time Mr. Hotness went far away for a job interview he ate at Quizno's. I was so mad at him. So this time I made him promise he would eat somewhere that served authentic regional food. This is what he ate. Oh how I wish he would have brought a slice home to me. But in just a few weeks I can eat this anytime I want:

Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go eat the Strawberry Cheesecake Ben and Jerry's that a dear friend brought me last night, read about The Pioneer Woman's latest vacation, and look for a new place to live on Craigslist.
Yes, we are nervous and scared, but mostly excited. No, we aren't sure yet if we will live in or outside of the city. Mr. Hot's first day on the job will be June 29th so we have to be there before then. We are flying out there this week to look for a place to live, please pray for us. This is going to be one interesting time in our lives. Thank you to all of you who kept us in your prayers and offered support while we were unemployed, and to all of you who have given us encouragement and help in this next move.

NEW JERSEY! You must live in New Jersey! We have train commuters in our ward--like 10 of them or so! So our taxes are high, but our township has a train station that gives him a straightshot into the city! And it's such a nice place to live. We heart this place. OH MY GOODNESS!!! I know I've never met you, but since you've lived fairly near to me ever since I've known you, and since we're both from Idaho, it feels like I'll "see" less of you! As I read your post and took in your destination, I had to tell myself, "She'll still be online, she'll still be online, she'll still be online..." :)

Wow. I just got back from the Big Apple. I have a friend there who lives in Queens/Astoria. She said it's cheaper than Manhattan, but safe. Good luck with everything!

i can't wait to hear all about it. what a great adventure for you and your family. although this is probably more than you can think about at the moment, the time may be right to go back to homeschooling while you are on the east coast--i so want to take my kids to all the great places in new england and washington, dc when i teach them about american history. and think of all the great museums in nyc! but put that out of your pretty little head right now and just focus on finding a place to live. i'm sure you'll love it there.

How exciting but probably a bit stressful too I imagine. (I have a love hate relationship with moving. Love new places but hate all the work of moving.)
New York will be an adventure for sure. My brother is a big shot architect out there. You know, personal meetings with the mayor etc on a regular basis. (He did the design work for the Bloomburg building...)

I forgot to add that the cousin lived there all while attending law school, and his wife gave birth to twin boys. I think by the time they left they had 4 kids under 4 or 5.

Having seen your "What New Yorkers think of the United States" poster, I'd say- you will do just fine! I am happy for you, but sad that you will be so stinken far away! Also, I had a fantastic menu planned for our visit, and now I won't be making any homemade tamales, potstickers, or peanut butter and jelly bars. :) Oh, maybe its a good thing, I would've gained alot of weight. So, so ,so happy for you. Already talked to DH about making plans to visit you someday. :)
