And as comfortable as I try to be with my body, we did NOT rent the home with the toilet mirror wall. (Can anyone ever be THAT comfortable with their body?):
Nor did we choose the home that had the "fun recreation room" for entertaining guests in:
Nope. Instead we chose the only normal, safe, big-enough-for-our-huge-family house we could find in our price range. And we love it!!! The only problem is that we are really paying for this place with the commute. Mr. Hotness has a 3 hour round trip commute each day and the kids and I currently have a 1 1/2 hour commute each day taking him back and forth from the train station each day.
But it is worth it!

I've been wondering what happened to you, hoping the move went okay. And may I just say, I'm so glad you didn't go with any of those other 'lovely' places! Haha! ;-D

Commutes stink. My husband has done it for years and it gets worse every year.

Connecticut is such a beautiful place! I spent most of my mission serving in that very area. I spent a lot of time in New Cannan, Norwalk and Darien. Such a nice place to live but the commute into the city wouldn't be fun everyday. But it is worth it. Your kids will get a lot of audio book in each day as they drive Dad to the train.
I hope everything settles down soon. I can't even imagine what a move across the country entails and with 5 kids too.

I swear I've been in the house with the great rec room. Honest, my friend Carol was a nanny for a family with a basement just like that in Rye.
I cannot imagine that commute! I think I would rather sleep in a tent in Central Park than have to drive that far but books on tape might make it bearable.
It's a lovely home and view. Much lovelier than looking at the backside of a desert mountain every day like I do.

Unfortunately all your "didn't" pictures look a lot like our house when we bought it, but 3 years later, it's finally almost like we like it. Your yard is lovely; enjoy the new home!
