Senior Photos

Last week I went scrounging around in one of my yet-to-be-dejunked closets to find some old pictures to share on facebook. To my horror I found that many of my old photos were curling in on themselves and sticking together. Let's just say I'm not the scrapbooking type and I'm lazy. So, in a mad rush I have been trying to get my photos into albums and I stumbled upon these beauties. The Senior Year photo shoot. I've always said if you take enough photos you are bound to get at least one good one and I think that is the approach they took with me.

*

I think I was trying to look dreamy and introspective in this one but I just look dazed and confused.

Here I am trying to look dreamy and introspective with the cheap casino strip club backdrop.

Eh, boring white.
Here we have big dorky glasses in cheap casino strip club.

I really should take those glasses off again, and maybe try a different position.

Aaaaguh! My retinas are burning! What is with the eye scorching, color clashing, eighties even though it's the mid nineties, backdrop?

This must be the "Under the Sea" backdrop. All I need are some seashell cups and to be surrounded by singing fish.

Hubba, hubba. Here is Mr. Hotness 1992 (or '93?). So cute!!!

This is my regal, high society, pageant pose. The photo package I bought came with a ginormous 11x14 hard back mounted portrait and I picked this photo for that. I thought it fitting that an obscenely large picture be of an obscenely snooty pose. I wonder what ever happened to that? I think I gave it to my boyfriend as a joke.

And after all that we finally get it right. This one is my favorite. I felt like this one captured the way I really felt about myself: casual and happy, just hangin' out.

Now you know you want to go find your senior photos, don't you? If you find them I dare you to post them. I double dog dare you!

I agree that last one is the best one. I never realized how big your glasses were.

Now comes the fun. I think all of us girls need to dig up the good ol' senior pictures and have a battle of the model wannabe's.
Waddaya think?

that was so fun to see you. and to cringe at the fashion etc of the time. i wonder where my senior pictures are? i only have a few--not in multiple poses like you--but it would still be fun to post them.

Whew! I'm safe then. Never had senior pictures because I homeschooled. Although I think we are close to the same age (30,right?) so about the time these were taken I was getting my bridal photos done. :D

I like the last one best too.

You are so brave.

That was fun! Because I didn't take a good picture from the 5th grade on (I had this fake smile thing going on)-she got the package with 80-100 proofs to choose from (I can't remember,it was 20 years ago). All of the proofs turned out except for maybe 3, I'm not kidding. She said "go figure, I spend over $100 dollars on Senior Portraits and all of them turn out".

I didn't get lots of poses like you, but I can't post them. You see, they are still safely tucked away at my mom's house where I never have to see them again. At least, until she moves next year at which point she will probably send them to me. Oh the horrors!

Oh my gosh - I totally remember the crazy colors of senior photos circa 1994... (are we close to the same age?)

I agree - the last picture is the best - you look so pretty!

(Good Lord woman, how do you handle all that hair and not let it look out of control like mine?!? Seriously, send the secret my way!)

You should check out Oprah's website: http://www.oprah.com/slideshow/oprahshow/20081029_tows_messyhouse/7 She featured someone trying to de-clutter their home and what they did was scan in/take pictures of their kid's arts & crafts projects and then put it into a snapfish photobook. So, Oprah is offering free photobooks (1 8x10 size, 21 pages only)until Nov 22! You could take all these pictures you scanned in and make a cute photobook where your pictures won't curl up anymore :-)

Loved the pics! I'm just shocked at how much you look the same as that first photo you posted. The years (and kids) have not taken any toll at all. Now I want to go scare up my senior photos. Silly fun!

SO what year did you graduate? I like your senior pics! I love the "snooty" one :) hehe

And I think my fave IS the last one :)

hilarious. Love the descriptions. Love the suspenders. :) And the last one IS nice. Maybe I could dig some of mine out; I've been feeling a little nostalgic anyway.

Ha! i think I just had two shots taken...one with the jacket on and one with the jacket off....and the class ring conspicuously display in both. Now, I am going to have to look for my photo!! That was 22 years ago!! Yikes!

I'm not sure what is funnier, your dazed look or Mr. Hotness' greaser look with the rolled cuffs!

OK, I will have to find mine because I was wearing a white shirt and jeans, justn o suspenders, and my hair was shoulder length curly, you are going to die laughing....

I never got to get senior pictures... mom ended up using glamor shots that I took with... was it you or Nanna? Either way, I wish I could have had professional pictures taken for my final year of high school. Those are beautiful!!

Love the pictures! Isn't it funny how a few years changes so much, especially photo background color combinations!

We do read a lot of the same people. It's wonderful to 'meet' you!

These are so gorgeous--I hadn't seen any but the yearbook version because I was in Italy when you had them done!

I especially like the jeans and tevas pics--those are so "you."

And how the heck could you not know when your hubby graduated? Get with it, girl! That's like not remembering when a sibling graduated . . . which I . . . can't . . . so I guess I'll shut up now . . .

P.S. D.J Zoey is lying--she went and got senior photos done all right, only they were after graduation and done at the locak glam photo shop (think "Napoleon Dynamite" and Uncle Ric with all the boas and lights . . . )

Ice Cream said...

Zoey wasn't lying, she said she got glamor shots done. And to clear up matters, I got them done with her and I can tell you it was a horrid experience that in no way made up for not getting a senior photo shoot. Great, now I need to go rummage around for our 1-800 call a hooker glamor photo.

okay Liz, you are right. The last one IS you. However, did I hear you call pageant girls snooty? Snotty, okay, but snooty? I thought we were friends!!! :) love ya. Rochelle

Okay, you really need to go to my blog and see what you started!

You had the mirror pose, too! I'm so jealous you found yours and mine is lost forever. I'm pretty sure I was totally sexy in that one!
